Many teenagers rely on over-the-counter painkillers to manage headaches, stress, or minor aches, but frequent use can be dangerous. Regular consumption of medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can harm the liver, kidneys, or stomach and may even lead to dependency over time. Teens sometimes turn to these drugs as a way to cope with emotional struggles or anxiety rather than addressing the root causes, which can mask deeper mental health issues. The easy availability of these medications and the misconception that they are completely safe can also increase the risk of accidental overdose or harmful drug interactions.
